Selena Gomez’s Kidney Donor Got Offended as The Musician Said Her Only Real Friend in The Industry Is ‘Taylor Swift’

An American singer, actress, and film producer, Selena Gomez, said that Taylor Swift is her only real friend in Hollywood. After her statement, she has been facing severe backlash and people also started calling her an ungrateful woman, because of her relationship with her friend Francia Raisa, who donated her kidney to the actress.

While giving an interview to the Rolling Stone, the thirty-year-old musician shared all her struggles and mental health issues which she went through, and also spoke about her recent Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind and Me.

According to Gomez, Taylor Swift was her constant support during her hard times and the one who never left her alone.

“I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities,” Selena told, “My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong.”

“I felt the presence of everyone around me living full lives. I had this position, and I was really happy, but…was I? Do these materialistic things make me happy? I just didn’t like who I was, because I didn’t know who I was.”

As E New’s official Instagram account, shared the clip of her statement many people started commenting and her kidney donor friend Francia also dropped a comment under the post.

“This friendship? It comes naturally. Tag the Taylor to your Selena,” the caption read.

Francia Raisa is a 34-year-old actress and her notable projects are Grown-ish, How I Met Your Mother, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and Bring it on. After watching the video the actress couldn’t stop herself to comment and wrote, “Intresting.”

However, Francia deleted her comment after sometime and then unfollowed Gomez from her Instagram account.

She was not the only one who didn’t feel pleased after Selena’s statement but many people started questioning her priorities including her friendship with the life savior friend.

“What about Francia? I mean, she gave Selena a Kidney,” someone commented.

“That means a lot but that’s seems kinda disrespectful to the woman who donated her kidney to her,” another wrote.

“Does anyone know what happen to her friendship with Francia Raisa? She gave Selena one of her kidneys so I’m really surprised she didn’t include her on her list along with Taylor’s,” a fan asked.

“What about that girl that gave her that organ? I don’t recall her name but, she is in the industry unless they related or something…” another one wrote.

While many people slammed Selena, some people came forward in support of her and said that there is nothing wrong if she only called the Love Story singer her real friend.

“She only talked about Taylor because she’s the only one in the business!!!! Why are so many upset? Francia is not a superstar!!! she doesn’t follow sel anymore, why? No attention in the documentary? It was about Selena’s illness, feelings and fears, not about the donor of the kidney!!!!” said one.

“She’s referring to the music industry which Francia isn’t a part of. She refers to Francia as family. This woman constantly has to defend everything she does/says; it’s wild.” wrote another.

When her statement got viral on social media, her fans started taking it seriously. In response Selena wrote via TikTok, she didn’t aware that it is important to mention everyone in a single comment.

“Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.” Gomez wrote.

In the year 2017, Raisa donated one of her kidneys to Gomez when she was suffering with a life-threatening disease named Lupus.

At that time the musician shared an emotional post on her Instagram account while mentioning Raisa she wrote,

“There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

“Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made. For more information regarding Lupus please go to the Lupus Research Alliance website: www.lupusresearch.org/ -by grace through faith.”
